In Liverpool, Great Britain, the most famous sons of the port city – The Beatles – are omnipresent. A museum and numerous Beatles-themed restaurants and cafes do homage to these musicians. In the first official Beatles inspired hotel – Hard Days Night Hotel – visitors can now marvel at unpublished Beatles’ photographs and works of art, and enjoy the ambience of a 4-star hotel at the same time.
Not far from the famous Cavern Club, where many pop and rock stars performed and the Beatles themselves rose to fame, is the imposing building of the Hard Days Night Hotel on North John Street. The former municipal building was turned into a four star boutique hotel with Beatles inspired artwork. Statues of John, Paul, Ringo and George, placed on the lavishly decorated façade, make the hotel unmistakable from the street. In the hotel foyer of this building dating back to 1884, visitors are drawn into the unmistakable story of the Fab Four with a Yellow Submarine jukebox, sheets of music hanging from the ceiling above the reception desk and a variety of Beatles artefacts on display for all visitors to see. Surrounded by black and white photographs of the Beatles, the hotel guest climbs a stone staircase to one of the 110 guest rooms – each one depicting a piece of the band’s musical story.
Exquisite fabrics and luxury furnishings
Modern interior design and restored original elements, combined with never before seen Beatles artwork, makes the Hard Days Night Hotel something really special. The luxurious hotel interior is decorated in light sand and brown shades. When furnishing the guest rooms, quality and functionality were of particular importance to the interior architects at Design LSM when selecting the fabrics. With their high-quality texture and colour, the bed throws made from pinewood drapilux flameproof fabrics do not just fit perfectly into the overall concept of the hotel they are also permanently non-flammable due to a modification made to the polyester fibres, meaning they only give off minimal levels of smoke gas in the event of a fire. Over 600 metres of pinewood drapilux flameproof fabric was used to make the furnishings of the hotel rooms safe.
Pure luxury in Beatles suites
The exclusive penthouse suites in the hotel offer fantastic views across Liverpool. In the McCartney suite there is a vast wall collage made from newspaper articles about Sir Paul McCartney, giving the hotel guest an insight into the exciting life of one of the most famous Liverpudlians. The cushions’ lively colours in blue, red and yellow contrast beautifully with the plain-coloured pinewood drapilux bed throws. The McCartney Suite is quite different to the Lennon Suite which has a white-on-white colour scheme. Framed by two pictures of the late Beatles singer, a white grand piano is the highlight of this minimalist suite.
The hotel’s extraordinary design provides a very special kind of encounter with the Beatles. A truly unforgettable experience for any visitor irrespective of whether they are a fan of the Beatles or not.
